The success of Prattville Christian Academy and its students is a direct result of our exceptional talented faculty and staff members. Biography

Alison Deason teaches PCA’s virtual students. She loves working at PCA because it feels like a great big family. Everyone takes care of each other and God’s word is incorporated into everything.

Mrs. Deason received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from the University of Montevallo and a Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama. She is married to Mark and they have three sons, Reid, Parker and Trevor. She attends Coosada Baptist Church.

Biography

Amy Easterling teaches Algebra II, Analytical Math, and Pre-Calculus. Mrs. Easterling enjoys the helpful atmosphere at PCA. She’s excited to be able to see students grow academically and spiritually.

Mrs. Easterling holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Math Education. She is married to Keith Easterling, and they have one daughter. She attends First Baptist Church in Clanton where she volunteers on the multi-media team.

Amy Hightower teaches first grade. She most enjoys the family atmosphere at PCA.

Mrs. Hightower earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Auburn Montgomery. She is married to Charles Hightower and they have three children, Charles, Katelynn and Brandon. She attends Landmark Church of Christ.

Resource Center Teacher


Biography

Amy Jolley teaches in PCA’s Resource Center as a tutor for students in grades 1-7. She enjoys be able to come to work everyday to interact with other Christians that try to build each other up and teach our students about our Heavenly Father.

Mrs. Jolley received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Faulkner University. She is married to Lance Jolley and they have two children, Claire Ellen and Megan. They attend Clanton Church of Christ where she serves as the Children’s Ministry Director. She enjoys volunteering with her local girl scout troop, Relay for Life, Swedish Queens Director, and is involved with the American Cancer Society through her small business, Pillow Fight for a Cure.

Biography

Amy Newsom teaches third grade. She loves that the leadership at PCA puts Christ at the forefront in every thing that they do everyday.

Ms. Newsom received a B.S. in Elementary Education from Faulkner and a Master’s degree from Auburn Montgomery. She has two children, Micah and Chase. They attend Hunter Hills Church where she previously served as the Children’s Minister.

Angela Bryant

Angela Bryant teaches fifth grade. She enjoys PCA because of the extended family atmosphere.

Mrs. Bryant earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio University. She is married to David and they have one daughter, Lindsay. She attends The Holy Spirit Church in Montgomery and volunteers with the Montgomery Zoo.

Anita Royster

Biography

Anita Royster teaches fifth grade. With more than 30 years of classroom experience, Anita considers it her joy to be a part of the lives of children and to watch them learn, grow and laugh.

Mrs. Royster earned a bachelors degree from Middle Tennessee State University, and is certified in Early Elementary and Special Education. She is married to Ron Royster and has one adult son, a daughter and son-in-law. Anita is a faithful member of Grandview Pines Church of Christ.

Ann Eller, MSSc

Biography

Ann Eller serves as a tutor in PCA’s Resource Center. She was introduced to PCA in 2013 and has love every minute on campus. 

Mrs. Eller earned a master’s degree in Social Science from Auburn Montgomery and has taught a variety of History and English classes until retirement in 2012. She is married to Rick Eller and they have two adult children and three grandchildren. She attends Glynwood Baptist Church. 

Anna Bush
Middle School Teacher


Biography

Anna Bush teaches Middle School English. Anna grew up in a Christian school and has always associated faith with learning so she’s excited to be part of a school focused on Kingdom building.

Mrs. Bush received a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education with minors in English and Math. She and her husband, Hayden Bush, are new to Prattville and searching for opportunities to plug into the community. 

Celisa Schumpert

Celisa Schumpert teaches lower and middle school Art. Mrs. Schumpert enjoys that every aspect of education is infused with faith at PCA and looks forward to investing in students and helping them see the beauty of God’s creation through art.

Mrs. Schumpert earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Mississippi State University. She is married to Scott Schumpert, PCA’s Campus Minister, and together they have three children; Anna Lauren, Kyle, and Caroline. They attend Centerpoint Fellowship Church where she leads two small group Bible studies.

Cody Adair, LAT & ATC
Athletic Trainer / Bible Teacher


Biography

Cody Adair serves as PCA’s Athletic Trainer but also teaches Bible part-time to upper school students. As a 2011 graduate of PCA, he enjoys giving back to the students what he received while on campus as a student years ago.

Coach Adair received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Harding University and a Master’s of Health Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training from the University of St. Augustine. He is married to Briana Adair and they attend Hunter Hills Church. 

Danielle Tedder

Biography

Danielle Tedder teaches third grade. She believes that a Christian education is fundamental in shaping the character, hearts, and souls of children. She enjoys sharing her relationship with Christ and enthusiasm for learning with the PCA family.

Mrs. Tedder earned a Bachelor in Science in Elementary Education from Auburn University. She is married to Jason Tedder, and they have four children; Caroline, Trey Peyton, and Jacob. They attend Journey Church where Danielle serves in the children’s ministry.

David Dean
Upper School Teacher


Biography

David Dean teaches all courses in PCA’s Engineering Academy. He most enjoys the students.

Mr. Dean earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and holds PLTW certifications for all his engineering courses. He is married to another PCA staff member, Patricia Dean and they have two children, Colin and Zachary. He attends Frazer United Methodist Church.

Derrick Moncrief
Middle School Teacher


Biography

Derrick Moncrief  teaches Geography for PCA’s middle school students. In addition to his classroom duties, he coaches football.

Mr. Moncrief earned earned Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science with a minor in Political Science from Troy University. He has more than 20 years of experience in both public and private schools, serving in many faculty, coaching, and administrative roles. Mr. Moncrief is a native of Prattville and married to Demecia Moncrief. Together, they have seven adult children. He attends First Missionary Baptist Church where he serves as an ordained deacon. 

Ed Lovvorn
Upper School Teacher


Biography

Ed Lovvorn teaches Pre-Calculus and Calculus. Outside of the classroom, he serves as an assistant football coach. His family was drawn to PCA for the opportunity to work in a Christian environment.

Mr. Lovvorn earned a BS Ed in Health and Physical Education and minor in Math Education from Georgia Southwestern State. In addition, he received a M Ed in Administration and Supervision from Georgia College and State University. He is married to Lisa and they have two adult children, John and Rob. He attends Shoal Creek Baptist Church.

Elizabeth Jackson

Elizabeth Jackson is a Kindergarten teacher. For years, as a parent of PCA students, she was impressed with the academics and spiritual emphasis that her children received, and now she’s excited to be a part of that enticement on a daily basis.

Ms. Jackson earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Montevallo. She has two children; Sera and Andy. Her family attends Coosada Baptist Church where she volunteers in the preschool and children’s departments.

Emily Wingard teaches second grade. She is excited for the opportunity to combine two passions – education and cultivating a love for Jesus. 

Mrs. Wingard received a Collaborative degree in elementary and special education from Huntingdon College. She is married to Mac Wingard and they have one child, Emmett. They attend Shoal Creek Baptist Church where Emily serves in the nursery. 

Erin Bowman

Erin Bowman teaches Middle School Bible. She loves the administration and their dedication to serving the Lord and how everyone is always so willing to help.  She also loves the students’ authenticity and motivation to do well in all areas of their lives!

Mrs. Bowman received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish and a Master’s in Education from Harding University. She is married to Randy Bowman and they have four children who attend PCA: Mihaela, Noah, Lannom, and Jorja. They attend Centerpoint Fellowship Church where she volunteers in the children’s ministry. Mrs. Bowman also volunteers with the Autauga Interfaith Care Center.

Erin Copeland

Erin Copeland serves as a Kindergarten teacher. She loves working with her sincere and loving co-workers at PCA.

Mrs. Copeland received a BA and M.ED. from Harding University. She is married to Nathan Copeland and they have four children; Kate, Colin, William, and Grant. She attends Hunter Hills Church of Christ.

Gennie Honel

Biography

Gennie Honel teaches elementary P.E. and helps coach softball, JV and varsity volleyball. She was drawn to PCA because of the great things she heard in the community about the school, especially the family atmosphere.

Coach Honel earned an associate’s degree from Southern Union State Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Faulkner University. She attends Eastmont Baptist Church where she volunteers with VBS and the nursery. 

Janet Branch

Janet Branch teaches Middle School Science, Math, and Bible. She loves science and the amazing world God made. She enjoys being in PCA’s Christian atmosphere where she can teach about His creation through science.

Mrs. Branch earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Environmental Studies. She is married to Malcolm Branch and they have two children; Sarah and Emily. She attends Trinity United Methodist Church. 

Jason Roberson

Jason Roberson teaches Bible and serves as the head coach for both varsity basketball teams as well as the administrator for PCA’s soccer program. He enjoys the people and strong Christian atmosphere.

Mr. Roberson received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Faulkner University. He is married to Lori Roberson and they have three children, Malia, Carson and Brady. He attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church.

Jeffery Bergdolt teaches high school science. He loves that he gets to help students reach both their academic and spiritual potential while teaching at PCA.

Kadi Newcomb teaches K4. She is a 2014 PCA graduate and came back to teach at her alma mater because she loves the caring environment.

Kaylon Cantrell teaches junior high math and serves as the head volleyball coach. She loves the Christian atmosphere and the sense of family among co-workers. “When I’m at school, whether teaching or coaching, I don’t feel like I’m at work because I love what I do, and enjoy the people that are here with me.”

Miss Cantrell received her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics Education from Faulkner University. She attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church and enjoys coaching volleyball clinics and camps at the YMCA.

Ken Lantz
Music Teacher / Band Director


Biography

Ken Lantz teaches Bible and Music Appreciation as well as directs PCA’s Panther Band. In addition to his classroom duties, he also serves as the cross country coach. He most enjoys being a part of a school that daily puts God first and he feels honored to work alongside committed Christian teachers and administrators.

Mr. Lantz received his undergraduate Music Education degree from Texas Tech University and recently earned two master’s degrees from York College in Organizational Leadership and Curriculum/Instruction. He is married to Renee Lantz and they have four children, Katherine, Connor, Natalie and Anna. He attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church where he serves on the Tech Team.

Kenneth Childree

Kenneth Childree teaches upper school English. Mr. Childree earned an undergraduate degree from Troy University along with a graduate degree and graduate certifications from Auburn University Montgomery. He is married to Leigh Anne Childree and they have two children, Kacey and Brantley. He attends Prattmont Church of Christ.

Kim Hardy is one of PCA’s preschool teachers. She’s been making a difference for K3 students since 2003 – her first class graduated in 2019. 

Mrs. Hardy attended Faulkner University. She is married to David Hardy and they have two adult children; Kaylon and Savannah. They attend Hunter Hills Church where they serve as front door greeters.

Kim Stephenson serves as PCA’s Academic Director and Gifted Program Director. Her responsibilities include professional development, curriculum, educational initiatives, and ensuring alignment of accreditation standards. She most enjoys the loving family atmosphere and that she can practice her professional passion along with her spiritual passion everyday.

Mrs. Stephenson earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology, a master’s degree in Elementary Education, an Ed.S in Elementary Education and a special education certification from University of Alabama. She is married to Adam Stephenson and they have four children, Emily, Rachel, Nicholas and Drew. She attends Redland Road Church of Christ where she volunteers in various roles.

Kimberly Simpson teaches life science in grades 9-12. Her classes include Biology, Honors Biology, Honors Anatomy and Physiology, and AP Environmental Science. She most enjoys the family atmosphere at PCA. In addition to teaching, she is PCA’s Cheer Director

LaTarial Williams is a Physical Education Teacher and basketball coach for PCA. She enjoys that everyone is one family and has one goal – to teach our students to mature spiritually and encourage high academic standards.

Coach Williams received an Associate of Physical Education from Snead State Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management from Huntingdon College. She is a member of Landmark Church.

Leigh Ann Blackmon teaches World History and U.S. History. She enjoys the all-around atmosphere at PCA because everyone is truly concerned about instilling Christian values in the students.

Linda Boren teaches fifth grade Reading. Mrs. Boren was called into teaching and considers it an honor and blessing to be able to interact with children every day.

Marcy Gore serves as an Orton-Gillingham certified tutor in PCA’s Resource Center. What she loves most about PCA are the people! PCA is not only a great school for students, but a great place to work. She is thankful for and love her PCA family.

Marsha Blankinchip serves as a first grade teacher at PCA. She most enjoys how PCA is intentional about teaching students how to have a servant’s heart and giving God all the glory while serving others.

Mary Greer serves as PCA’s Tanglewood Coffee House Manager. In addition to serving coffee, her duties include connecting with students through mentoring, Bible study and small group activities. She also teaches sixth grade Bible. She loves being part of a Christian team that is focused on preparing future leaders.

Miss Greer received her Bachelor’s degree from Harding University and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Alabama. Mary is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She attends Church of the Highlands and serve on the small groups team.

Michelle Stough teaches Chemistry. She enjoys the Christian atmosphere.

Mrs. Stough graduated from Troy University with a degree in Secondary Comprehensive Science. She is married to Randy Stough and they have two children and two grandsons. She attends Elmore Church of Christ and spends her free time devoted to A+ College Ready and Laying the Foundation where she trains teachers and conducts study sessions for students.

Monica Melton serves as a fourth grade teacher at PCA. She most enjoys that she leaves work each day closer to the Lord than when she arrived.

Nancy Rambo teaches Kindergarten. She loves the great Christian atmosphere with wonderful co-workers. She enjoys working with students and seeing the little light blubs turn on and being able to relate all that we do to God’s word.

Mrs. Rambo received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University. She is retired from Montgomery Public Schools after 25 years of service. She is married to Steve Rambo and they have two children and two grandchildren. She attends Vaughn Park Church of Christ.

Nicole Carr is a preschool and lower school auxiliary teacher. She enjoys working with children and brainstorming creative ways for them to learn. Mrs. Carr is married to Bryan Carr and they have three children; Easton, Hudson, and Dawson. They attend Hunter Hills Church.

Randy Stough teaches Driver’s Education, Heath, and P.E. He is also the Head Softball Coach. Randy enjoys working with fellow Christians at PCA who are striving to make a spiritual influence in the lives of children.

Mr. Stough received a bachelor’s degree at Troy State University in K-12 P.E. and a certification in Driver’s Education at Alabama State University. He is married to Michelle Stough and they have two children and four grandchildren. He attends Elmore Church of Christ.

Renee Lantz

Renee Lantz teaches Spanish as an auxiliary class for grades K3-7, librarian for grades 1-3, and coaches the Pantherettes – PCA’s Majorette team. She enjoys PCA because of the focus on raising students who love and serve the Lord and others.

Rhiannon teaches first grade. She’s grateful for the opportunity to teach and incorporate her love for Christ in the classroom. As a graduate of a Christian schools, teaching in the same environment is very important to her also.

Robert Holt

Robert Holt teaches high school math and sponsors the Key Club. He likes the opportunity to teach in an environment that encourages children to grow both academically and spiritually.

Mr. Holt holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with an emphasis in Engineering from Auburn Montgomery. He is married to Kim Holt and they have two children, Bryan and Kendall. He attends Prattville Church of Christ.

Robyn Davis

Robyn Davis teaches K4. Thirteen years ago, her children began attending PCA and have been positively impacted by teacher after teacher. She is now blessed to have the opportunity to teach at the school and share God’s love with her students.

Mrs. Davis received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and minors in Speech and Journalism from Auburn University. She is married to Stephen Davis and they have three children, Shea, Matt and Jake. She attends Prattville First United Methodist Church where she volunteers with various children’s ministry programs and teaches a young adult Sunday school class with her husband.

Biography

Scott Schumpert serves as PCA’s Campus Minister and teaches upper school Bible classes. Having been in youth ministry most his life, he was drawn to ministering to students and their families, as well as the faculty and staff at PCA.  Scott enjoys being a part of a family’s journey and considers it an honor to invest in their lives and watch God take them to places they never imagined.

Mr. Schumpert earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Mississippi State University, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Huntingdon College, and attend seminary school at Wesley Biblical Seminary and New Orleans Baptist Seminary. He is married to Celisa Schumpert and have three children, Anna Lauren, Kyle and Caroline. They attend Centerpoint Fellowship Church where he’s involved in several areas, including small groups and mission teams.

Shannon Duncan

Shannon Duncan serves as a K3 teacher at PCA. She most enjoys the family atmosphere and is blessed to know that she is surrounded every day by caring and encouraging co-workers.

Mrs. Duncan served as a Substitute Teacher for Autauga County for eleven years and three years as a 21st CCLC Teacher (Century Community Learning Center) Afterschool Program.  She is married to Scott Duncan and they have four children, Tyler, Cam, Tate & Savannah. Stacey Clem, M.Ed.

Stacey Clem teaches Honors English 10, American Literature 11, and Creative Writing. Her favorite thing about PCA is the family atmosphere. She is excited about sharing her passion for analyzing literature and language from a biblical worldview.

Mrs. Clem received her Bachelor of Science in English and a Master of Science in English Education from Troy University. She also has a Foundation and Frameworks certification. She is married to Ted Clem and they have three children; Annalise, Alaina, and Andrew. Mrs. Clem attends Journey Church where she serves on the worship team and as a life group leader at church. Her family enjoys taking mission trips as well.

Stephanie Beers teaches Honors English 9 and British Literature. She most enjoys the people at PCA. She looks forward to serving with other believers who genuinely desire to impact students in a way the honors God.

Mrs. Beers received her B.S. in Education from the University of Alabama in Birmingham with a concentration in secondary English. She is married to Tod Beers and they have two children, Shannon and Rachel. They attend Shoal Creek Baptist Church where she teaches youth Sunday School classes and leads women’s Bible studies.

Steven Sessions
Auxiliary Music Teacher


Biography

Steven Sessions teaches Elementary and Middle School music as well as serves as the PCA Choir Director. He most enjoys that PCA puts God first and students are encouraged to grow as leaders who serve sacrificially as Christ did for us.

Mr. Sessions received his Bachelor of Arts in Music from Huntingdon College. He is married to Sheri Sessions and they have two children, Rachael and Thomas. They attend Pintlala Baptist Church where he volunteers with the church’s community service program.

Theresa May
Lower School Teacher


Biography

Theresa May serves as one of PCA’s fourth grade teachers.

Mrs. May earned an Early Childhood Education degree from Auburn Montgomery. She is married to Paul May and they have three children, Walker, Wyatt and Mary Sutton. They attend Hunter Hills Church.

Tori Blackburn
Middle School Teacher


Biography

Tori Blackburn teaches Middle School Social Studies and Learning Lab as well as assists in PCA’s IDEA Lab with lower school student. Mrs. Blackburn is a PCA alumna and most enjoys working in a supportive family environment every day at PCA.

Mrs. Blackburn received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She is married to Caleb Blackburn and they have one child, Waylon. She attends Coosada Baptist Church.

Trent Staggs
Upper School Teacher / Head Wrestling Coach


Biography

Trent Staggs is a Personal Finance, Government/Economics, and World History teacher. He is also the Head Wrestling Coach and a Varsity Assistant Football Coach. He most enjoys the ability to teach, coach and work in such a Christian environment that take into account the whole student, parent and educator that comes through the doors of PCA.

Coach Staggs earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from the University of Soutakesn Indiana and Master of Science in Athletic Administration from Ohio University.  He is married to Melissa and they have two children, Will and Elijah.

Whitney Sheridan
Lower School Teacher


Biography

Whitney Sheridan teaches second grade. She enjoys being a part of the organization because it is Christ-centered. Every faculty member, student, and family makes it a welcoming and warm place.

Mrs. Sheridan graduated from Troy University.  She is married to Cass Sheridan and they have two daughters. She attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church.

Xavier Cunningham
Upper School Teacher


Biography

Xavier Cunningham teaches Word History for eighth and ninth grade. He also coaches football and baseball. Xavier was drawn to PCA because he desires to be in an environment that promotes Christ and His Word as truth and the way to live every day.

Mr. Cunningham earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management (2014) and a second Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management (2017) from Faulkner University. He is married to Vanessa Cunningham and they have two children; Uriah and Skylar. He is a member of Morningview Baptist Church.
