The success of Prattville Christian Academy and its students is a direct result of its exceptionally talented faculty and staff members. These individuals pour knowledge, life skills and Christ into the student body each day. We are fortunate to call each faculty and staff member a part of the PCA family. In addition to their daily teaching schedules, many of our teachers are also athletic coaches, club sponsors, and leaders in their respective field.

Biography
Austin Adams serves as Prattville Christian Academy’s Facilities and Maintenance Director as well as the Head Baseball Coach. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Faulkner University and was drafted by the Cleveland Indians, making his Major League Baseball debut in July 2014. After several years of pitching for various MLB organizations, Coach Adams retired from professional baseball and returned to the Prattville area.
In recognition of his athletic accomplishments, he was recently inducted into the Faulkner Sports Hall of Fame. As Head Baseball Coach at PCA, his goal is not only to develop skilled athletes but also to help shape strong young men who are prepared to succeed in life. He is passionate about teaching the game the right way—with high effort, discipline, integrity, and heart.
Coach Adams and his wife, Kara, have three children who attend PCA.

Biography
Makaila Anthony serves as the Marketing and Communications Director at PCA. Her responsibilities include advertising and promotion of the school as well as ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders. She most enjoys the ability to worship and share openly about Christ and the loving environment that is PCA.
Ms. Anthony holds a Bachelor of Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Alabama. She attends Dalraida Church of Christ, where she actively participates in helping the college and young adult groups.

Biography
Clay Boyd serves as PCA’s Upper School Principal. He believes that being a follower of Christ has allowed him to create a standard for himself that is contrary to the world, and he wants to share that with students who are discovering who they are and how their walk with Christ can change the world.
Mr. Boyd earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with an emphasis in History from Auburn Montgomery. After nine years of classroom experience, he’s using the skills required to teach varied grade levels and coach different sports to impact PCA’s Upper School students and provide another strong, Christian male presence for students of all ages to emulate on campus. Clay is married to Victoria, and they have two children, AnnRenee and Jarrett Latner. He attends Hunter Hills Church.

Ashley serves as the Upper School Administrative Assistant. She feels blessed to be a part of the PCA family.
Mrs. Clark is married to Jack, and they have one son, Tyler, who attends PCA. She attends Centerpoint Fellowship where she volunteers as a Children’s Ministries greeter.

Patricia Dean serves as PCA’s Upper School Guidance Counselor. The thing that she loves most about PCA is the family atmosphere, which is evident by the love and care that everyone shows each other.
Mrs. Dean holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Early Childhood Education, and a Masters of Education in Guidance and Counseling from Memphis State University. She is certified to teach K-6 and counsel K-12. She is married to David Dean and they have two children, Colin and Zachary. She and David have three wonderful grandchildren. Mrs. Dean attends Church of the Highlands/Montgomery Campus. She is a supporter of Families for HOPE, a non-profit organization for families that have children born with HPE, a malformation of the brain.

Cyndi Dennis serves as PCA’s Family Accounts Specialist. Her responsibilities include managing FACTS accounts for all families’ tuition and fees and maintaining established payment plans. She was drawn to PCA as parent because of the strong academics and Christian environment so once an opportunity opened for her, she jumped on the chance to be a part of the family too! Mrs. Dennis is married to Brian, and they have one child, Wyatt. They attend Centerpoint Church.

Coach Duncan serves as PCA’s Athletic Director. He says he finds great enjoyment in striving for the best for families and their students and seeing students thrive. It’s not just about sports to him, but teaching lifelong lessons that help shape them into becoming good adults, spouses, and parents. He says he hopes to strengthen mindsets and grow potential among players at PCA! Coach Duncan was named a National Wrestling Coaches Association Coach of the Year for the Alabama Chapter in 2013 and was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2024.

Katie Furr is PCA’s Head of School. She enjoys watching students grow in the Lord at PCA.
Mrs. Furr received her undergraduate degree in Education from Troy University and a master’s degree from Walden University. She is married to Jason Furr and they have one daughter, Shelby. She attends Landmark Church where she volunteers with the Young Marrieds Ministry.

Maranda Green serves as the Development Director in PCA’s Advancement Office. She most enjoys the warm welcome you feel as soon as you enter PCA and the amazing education her son receives in a Christian environment.
Mrs. Green attended Enterprise State Junior College. She is married to David Green and they have one son, Ethan. They attend Journey Church where she serves as a greeter and volunteers for various events.

Mary Greer serves as PCA’s Tanglewood Coffee House Manager. In addition to serving coffee, her duties include connecting with students through mentoring, Bible study and small group activities. She loves being part of a Christian team that is focused on preparing future leaders.
Miss Greer received her Bachelor’s degree from Harding University and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Alabama. Mary is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She attends Church of the Highlands and serve on the small groups team.

Rachael Heartsill is PCA’s Lower School Principal. She’s served in this role since 2010 after transitioning out of PCA’s upper school guidance office. Mrs. Heartsill loves PCA because it’s an environment where everyday children and teachers from different denominations can come and share their faith while teaching and learning – it’s a place where questions are welcomed and views are respected.
Mrs. Heartsill holds a master’s degree in Learning Disabilities. She is married to Vann Heartsill and they have four children, Tave, Kaleigh, Dylan, and Lainey. She is a graduate of Leadership Autauga and attends Church of the Highlands.

Deborah Kicker serves as the Admissions Director at PCA. Her responsibilities include processing in and out of all PCA students, maintaining student records, and processing transcript request. She loves that PCA provides a solid education to its students and is a safe and caring atmosphere. Everyone devotes themselves to second mile service to students and their families.
Mrs. Kicker earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Faulkner University. She is married to Tery Kicker and they have two sons, Ethan and Matthew. She attends Redland Road Church of Christ.

Holly Lord serves as PCA’s Chief Financial Officer. She most enjoys working in a Christian environment and being where her children attend school.
Mrs. Lord earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Auburn Montgomery. She is married to Josh, and they have three children: Levi, Noah, and Isaac. They attend Shoal Creek Baptist Church, where Holly serves in the nursery.

Lauren Minton serves as the Lower School Administrative Assistant, where she enjoys supporting students, parents, and staff while helping the school day run smoothly.
Mrs. Minton earned her Associate’s Degree from Chattahoochee Valley Community College. Her heart for education began through volunteering at PCA while her sons were in elementary school. She later served as a substitute teacher before joining the staff full time.
She and her husband, Jon Minton, have two sons, Andrew and Aaron, both PCA alumni. The Minton family attends Crossroads Community Church and enjoys participating in church and community activities.
Mrs. Minton feels blessed to work in a loving, Christ-centered environment where children are not only prepared academically for the future but also guided toward a personal relationship with God. For her, PCA is family, and she treasures being part of a community that nurtures faith, character, and learning.

Sonia Montgomery serves as the Human Resources Coordinator at PCA. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Systems and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Alabama. Mrs. Montgomery is married to John, a retired Air Force veteran, and they have four kids—Addison, Carter, Ellie, and David—all of whom attend PCA. Mrs. Montgomery and her family were drawn to PCA because of its military-friendly environment, and fell in love with PCA because of its Christ-centered educational mission. Mrs. Montgomery attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church, where she serves regularly as a greeter as part of the Welcome Team

Christy Nichols serves as PCA’s school nurse. She most enjoys the family atmosphere and working with students at PCA.
Mrs. Nichols earned her associates degree in Nursing from Troy University. She is married to Jamie Nichols and they have two children, Kade and Annalise, who attend PCA. She and her family attend Centerpoint Fellowship Church.

Lisa Reid serves as PCA’s Lower School Guidance Counselor. She most enjoys the love she has for the students and their families and is thankful for the time that she’s been able to work at PCA.
Mrs. Reid earned a Health and Physical Education degree, a master’s in Community Counseling and a second master’s degree in School Counseling for grades K-12 from Troy University. She has many years of counseling experience with families and young people in difficult and sensitive situations. She is married to Ken Reid and they have one son, Jeremy and a daughter in-law, Anna Laura. She and her husband attend Frazer Free Methodist Church where they volunteer with the congregational prayer ministry, guest and welcome care, ministry and missions prayer team.

Scott Schumpert serves as PCA’s Campus Minister and teaches Bible classes. Having been in youth ministry most his life, he was drawn to ministering to students and their families, as well as the faculty and staff at PCA. Scott enjoys being a part of a family’s journey and considers it an honor to invest in their lives and watch God take them to places they never imagined.
Mr. Schumpert earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Mississippi State University, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Huntingdon College, and attend seminary school at Wesley Biblical Seminary and New Orleans Baptist Seminary. He is married to Celisa Schumpert and have three children, Anna Lauren, Kyle and Caroline. They attend Centerpoint Fellowship Church where he’s involved in several areas, including small groups and mission teams.

Laura Ann Scott serves as PCA’s Technology Director. Her responsibilities include all device maintenance, GSuite, FACTS, network and wifi maintenance and teacher certification. She loves that anytime she needs anything there are numerous people ready and willing to help. She loves spending time with her 10 nieces and nephews and her dog Pearl.
Miss Scott graduated from Auburn Montgomery with a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and is currently working towards a masters degree in Computer Science from Troy University. She attends Hunter Hills Church and volunteers with Common Ground Montgomery.

Michelle Stough now serves as PCA’s Academic Director after teaching Upper School Chemistry. She enjoys the Christian atmosphere.
Mrs. Stough graduated from Troy University with a degree in Secondary Comprehensive Science. She is married to Randy Stough and they have two children and four grandchildren. She attends Elmore Church of Christ. She spends her free time with her family and traveling.

Tangie Taylor is PCA’s Academic Support Center Director. She enjoys being a part of the Christ-centered mission at PCA that is practiced daily towards the students, staff and the community.
Mrs. Taylor earned a Master of Education in Elementary Education from Auburn Montgomery. She is certified to teach reading in K-12. She is married to Mark Taylor and they have two children, Brent and Liana. She attends Glynwood Baptist Church.

Danielle Tedder serves as PCA’s Preschool Director. She believes that Christian education is fundamental in shaping children’s character, hearts, and souls. She enjoys sharing her relationship with Christ and enthusiasm for learning with the PCA family.
Mrs. Tedder earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Auburn University. She is married to Jason, and they have four children; Caroline, Trey, Peyton, and Jacob. They attend Journey Church, where Danielle serves in the children’s ministry.

Eugenia Vaughn serves as PCA’s Middle School Principal. She loves PCA because it allows her to point children to Christ, and she enjoys the opportunity to work with supportive and loving staff members.
Mrs. Vaughn earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University and Faulkner University, respectively. She is married to Brian, and they have three children, Josh, Matt, and Lauren. She attends Journey Church, where she enjoys volunteering with the children’s ministry.
