Prattville Christian Academy welcomes families needing assistance to consider the following methods of reducing the cost of your student’s education.
PCA is proud to partner with the following scholarship organizations:
The Creating Hope and Opportunity for Our Students’ Education Act of 2024 (The CHOOSE Act) is administered by the Alabama Department of Revenue (ALDOR).
The CHOOSE Act Program makes refundable income tax credits called education savings accounts (ESAs) available to support the success of eligible K-12 students in Alabama.
An ESA can be used to pay for tuition, fees, and other qualified education expenses at approved Education Service Providers (ESPs) in Alabama.
- $7,000 per participating student who is enrolled in a participating school
- $2,000 per participating student who is participating in a home education program (maximum of $4,000 per family.)
- For the 2026-2027 academic year:
- The renewal application portal for current participants will open December 15, 2025.
- The application portal for new families for the 2026-2027 academic year will open January 2, 2026.
- To be eligible for the 2026-2027 academic year, the student must be in grades K5-12, be a resident of Alabama, and be in a household whose income does not exceed 300% of the federal poverty level for the 2025 tax year.

The Alabama Accountability Act of 2013 permitted the formation of non-profit “scholarship granting organizations” (SGO). These SGO’s take private individual and corporate donations and provide scholarships to financially eligible lower-income K5-12th grade students in the state of Alabama. SGO scholarships can provide some or all of the funding for students to attend independent schools.
For more information on the Alabama Accountability Act, visit the Alabama Accountability Act Home Page website.
A student must meet PCA’s admission requirements to utilize an SGO award.
Please note that these scholarships are not managed by PCA. Eligibility requirements vary for the programs. All questions should be directed to the individual SGO for which you are applying.
