PCA’s 5th Grade Class Visits Maxwell Air Force Base’s STARBASE Camp

 In Academics

PCA’s 5th-grade students and teachers recently embarked on a transformative journey to the StarBase Maxwell program at Maxwell Air Force Base. Over five days, students were immersed in a world of innovation, discovery, and hands-on learning, courtesy of the Department of Defense’s cutting-edge STEM awareness and outreach initiative.
Under the guidance of dedicated and compassionate StarBase educators, PCA students were granted access to various science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) career fields and activities.

Throughout the week, students were captivated by hands-on experiential activities designed to ignite their curiosity and strengthen their understanding of STEM concepts. From the thrill of launching rockets to the intricate study of robotics, from exploring the states of matter to unraveling the complexities of the engineering design process, each activity provided a unique opportunity for students to engage, explore, and grow. Through collaboration and shared discovery, students not only enhanced their understanding of STEM but also developed invaluable skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication with one another. The lessons learned and memories made at StarBase Maxwell will leave a lasting impression on PCA students, inspiring them to pursue their passions and embrace the limitless possibilities of the STEM fields.
