Accreditation Update 2026
Prattville Christian Academy is pleased to share that we have received a 5-year accreditation approval from the National Christian School Association (NCSA) and Cognia following its recent visit. The purpose of accreditation is to ensure that students are being served to the school’s maximum potential. During an accreditation visit, a team of individuals from within the association conducts a thorough on-site review that provides the school with information on recommended areas of growth and highlights areas of excellence.
As part of the Engagement Review, stakeholders were interviewed to provide feedback. The team found that “families, students, faculty, and others expressed a deep sense of loyalty toward PCA and a shared commitment to its sustainability.” In student interviews, learners reported feeling “safe, supported, challenged, and known.”
The accreditation team observed that “Prattville Christian Academy is strengthened by a dedicated and highly qualified faculty who view their classrooms as an extension of their ministry and are deeply committed to student success.” They noted how “teachers are knowledgeable, compassionate, and invested in both academic excellence and student development.”
They observed how “PCA offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, including spiritual leadership, clubs, and athletics, supporting students’ holistic growth.” Professional development is also a key strength, with faculty emphasizing “the quality and accessibility of resources and the administration’s support for ongoing growth across spiritual, academic, and leadership domains.”
The team highlighted faith integration as an area for continued focus: “the team recommends that the administration create structures for teachers to reflect their faith and incorporate biblical principles.” They stated that “while most classrooms displayed reminders of faith, due to limited time in each classroom, it was difficult to see how biblical integration was embedded daily.” The accreditation team encourages PCA to strengthen Christ-centered instruction across classrooms and develop clear structures to support teachers in integrating biblical principles. Additionally, ongoing board training is recommended for current and newly added board members to further enhance their understanding of roles and responsibilities.
In conclusion, the accreditation team consistently observed a culture marked by dedication, unity, and care across all facets of the school community. They stated that the accreditation documentation provided was thorough, evidence-based, and clearly articulated. Upon arrival, the team observed the academic rigor and spiritual vitality described in the report. The administration demonstrated a clear commitment to PCA’s mission, the well-being of faculty, and the spiritual development of students. Parents affirmed that the financial sacrifices required to attend PCA were worthwhile and expressed strong satisfaction with their investment. Additionally, several faculty members began their association with PCA as parents or alumni, drawn by the school’s mission and culture of excellence.
Now that the accreditation visit has been concluded, campus-wide goals have been formed for the upcoming years. They are as follows:
- Increase community presence and involvement within and outside of PCA.
- Increase student engagement by developing their God-given strengths for Kingdom impact, while fostering a growth mindset in teachers to continually improve instruction and spiritual leadership.
- Improve and increase ACT and PreACT scores by focusing on consistent practice, time management, and a structured study plan.
- Continue upgrades to all facilities.
- Increase Board training and engagement.
We are grateful to have participated in this process, as it allows time for reflection and provides insight for future growth.
