PCA’s Shelbie Burbage Signs Softball Scholarship
Prattville Christian Academy is proud to announce that Shelbie Burbage signed an athletic scholarship to play softball at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama.
Shelbie has been a tremendous asset to the Lady Panthers as the lead off batter, middle infielder and short stop. In her junior year, she led the team in runs scored (75), stolen bases (55) and on base percentages (.519). She was also the first player at PCA to have been selected for the North/South All-Star team in 2016. As the lone senior on this year’s team, her leadership abilities and work ethic will guide her team as they attempt to make another run at the 3A state championship.
“Shelbie is a silent giant. She leads by example and sets the tone for the team offensively,” said Coach Randy Stough, PCA’s head softball coach. “Her work ethic has continued to blossom during the last few years and she’ll no doubt be an asset for Faulkner. I know she’ll be successful in whatever path God chooses for her life.”
