Hour of Code

 In School News

We live in a world surrounded by technology that continues to change and advance. No matter which career our students choose as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. The reality in many educational institutions has been a decrease in computer science related activities that provide foundational understanding of the process; however, that is not the case here at PCA!

We are happy to inform you that 3rd through 7th grade students will participate in the Hour of Code again this year during Computer Science Education Week (Dec. 8-14). Similar to Code Weeks in the past, each classroom will experience a one-hour event with Mrs. McCawley one day next week, during which they will explore, create and discover using coding skills. In doing so, they will learn the processes that make technology function, resulting in a greater understanding of the technology they encounter on a daily basis.

Please help us encourage them by asking questions about their experiences next week. If you would like to find out more about the event we will be participating in, you may do so at the following site:  http://hourofcode.com/us.
