PCA Wins $8,000 grant from International Paper

Academic director Katie Furr and advanced math teacher Josh Smith worked together last summer on a grant application for the new PCA Engineering Academy.  Launching and implementing this program is very expensive, and PCA was awarded $8,000 by International Paper to assist with the upfront cost of the software for the program.

PCA is the first school in the River Region to introduce this program.  Students must qualify through by grades as well as teacher recommendations.  This program is for 9-12 graders and will include hands-on work with local engineers from Hyundai, IP and Alabama Road Builders.
