2017-2018 Back-to-School Information
Hello! On behalf of Prattville Christian Academy, we would like to welcome all new families and returning PCA families to the one place where all information and updates pertaining to the 2017-18 school year are located.

Summer Office Hours
The PCA office will open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. All visitors must enter through the Secondary Building.
We will be closed on Tuesday, July 4 and Wednesday, July 5 in observance of Independence Day.
Regular office hours will resume on Monday, July 31.
Summer Reading and Math Assignments
In an effort to keep your student’s reading and math skills sharp, we are again requiring participation in the summer reading and math program. Students in grades K3 through 2 will receive prizes for participation, while participation is mandatory for students in grades 3 through 12.

Orientation Dates
A mandatory parent meeting for students in K3-K5 will be held on Tuesday, August 1 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in the student’s classroom. Optional parent/teacher meetings for grades 1-5 will also be held in student’s classroom. We request no children attend these meetings.
PCA’s Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, August 3 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. It will begin with a few grade specific meetings and will be followed by room tours which are optional but highly recommended.

Student Information Packets
Each student must have a completed information packet on file. These forms will be emailed later this month but to get a head start, download the category-specfiic forms here. All forms should be returned to Deborah Kicker, PCA’s Admissions Director.
New Parent Reception
Mark your calendars! All new PCA families will be invited to our annual New Parent Reception on Thursday, August 17 at 5:30 p.m. in the PCA Gym. This come-and-go, informal event will give you an opportunity to meet many of PCA’s board members and administrators as well as connect with other new and established families.
Uniform Sales
PCA is transitioning to a new uniform supplier. During this transition, PCA-approved uniform pieces may be purchased from AKD and Parker Uniforms, depending on item and transition date. See below for supplier information and transition dates.

Supply Lists
The middle school supply lists is available by clicking here. The junior high and high school lists are available by clicking here. All elementary supplies are furnished by PCA. Backpacks are also provided through third grade.
Locker Assignments, Car Registration and Student I.D. Cards
Student I.D. cards are required for all students in grades 6-12 and must be renewed each school year.
July 25, 26 and 27 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (closed for lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.)
High school locker assignments will also be available for pick up at the front desk of the secondary building following the same schedule above. Middle school locker assignments will be be available on orientation night.
All students who drive will need to register their vehicle at the front desk of the secondary building as well. Please note! Senior parking is located in the lot on the left side of the secondary building and all other student parking is located in the lot to the right of the elementary building.
Device Issuance
All students in grades 10-12, with the exception of Engineering, may pick up their devices anytime August 2-4 between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. in the T.E.K. Office.
Students in grades 6-7 and Engineering students will receive their devices during the first week of school.
A device issuance date has not yet been set for students in grades 8-9 with the exception of Engineering students who will received theirs once the school year begins.
Signed forms (the appropriate ADRC and the AUP) and case is required for a device to be issued. No devices will be issued at Orientation. To download the appropriate forms, click here. For more information or questions, contact Laura Ann Scott.
Renweb Accounts
RenWeb School Management software, PCA’s communication tool, gives parents the opportunity to be more involved in student’s academic progress and future successes via an easy-to-use software program. It allows you to view grades, attendance, homework assignments and other useful information. You may also communicate with teachers and other school staff through this system, as necessary.

Class Schedules
All middle school, junior high and high school students will follow a modified block schedule. A master schedule is available here.
Other Information
Mark your calendars! A welcome party for new middle school students will be held on July 26 at 12:00 p.m. This event is designed for new students only (no parents) to meet classmates and teachers.
A new student luau, for students in grades 8-12, will be held on July 27 from 5-7 p.m. in the PCA Gym and Cafeteria. This event is designed for new students only (no parents) to meet classmates and teachers.
Incoming eighth graders and all other students who are new to the secondary building are encouraged to read Mrs. Furr’s welcome letter for details on schedules, expectations and more.
P.E. clothes for middle school students will be given out during P.E. and charged to your PCA account. All high school students are responsible for their own clothes that meet PCA’s handbook standards.
