Welcome, Panthers! On behalf of Prattville Christian Academy, we would like to welcome all new families and returning PCA families to the one place where all information and updates pertaining to the 2021-2022 school year are located.

Summer Hours
PCA will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. All visitors must enter through the Secondary Building. The campus will be closed on July 6 in observance of Independence Day. Normal office hours will resume on August 2. 

Summer Reading and Math Assignments
PCA’s Summer Reading & Math Program is required to keep students on track for the upcoming school year by retaining the knowledge and skills learned during the previous year. Students in grades K3 through 2 will receive prizes for participation, while participation is mandatory for students in grades 3 through 12. Grade-level assignments are available here. Summer Sports & Enrichment Camps
Students are encouraged to stay active and engaged with the sports and enrichment camps happening this summer! Click here to learn more about the camps offered and register for your favorite camps. 

Open House Dates
PCA’s Open House events begin with mandatory meetings for specific grades on August 3. We request no children attend these meetings. Optional parent/teacher meetings for grades 1-5 will also be held in the student’s classroom on this date from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

PCA’s school-wide Open House is scheduled for August 5 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. It will begin with a few grade-specific meetings and will be followed by room tours which are optional but highly recommended. Children are encouraged to attend as well.

Student Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures
Navigating a new school campus during peak traffic times can be confusing. To ensure safety and effectiveness of student drop-off and pick-up times, please review PCA’s procedures related to this process. Click here to learn more as it relates to your child’s specific grade level.

COVID Procedures
PCA will return to semi-normal operations on campus for the 2021-2022 school year. In advance of next week, please review The Road to a Safe Return Continues, PCA’s comprehensive COVID-19 plan. Whether it’s adhering to social distance recommendations, appreciating that some may continue to wear face coverings based on personal need, or keeping a possibly sick child at home, we are again relying on every person to do their part.

Uniform Resale
Take advantage of big savings on gently-used uniform pieces! Everything from shirts, skirts, outerwear, and bottoms – some items still have sales tags! The sale will take place on the second floor of the Secondary Building. Cash, check, or credit/debit cards will be accepted. If you aren’t able to attend the sale, contact PCA’s Advancement Office to schedule an appointment to shop these items.

New Student Welcome Events 

Lower School
What’s more fun than a happy surprise! New students in grades K3-5 will receive a goody bag to welcome them.  Additional details to come!

Middle School
A welcome party for new to PCA middle school students will be held on August 2 at 12:00 p.m. This event is designed for new students only (no parents) to meet classmates and teachers. Additional details to come! For more information, contact Lisa Reid, Lower School Guidance Counselor. 

Upper School
A welcome BBQ will be held on August 3 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at PCA’s football field for new students in grades 8-12.  This event is designed for new students only (no parents) to meet classmates and teachers. New Family Reception
Mark your calendars! All new families are invited to PCA’s New Family Reception on August 12 at 7:15 a.m. in the PCA’s Tanglewood Coffee House. This come-and-go, informal event will give you an opportunity to meet many of PCA’s board members and administrators as well as connect with other new and established families. Supply Lists
All preschool and elementary supplies are provided by PCA. Monogrammed tote bags are also provided through third grade. The middle school supply list for grades 6-7 is available by clicking here. The upper school supply list for grades 8-12 is available here

Student I.D. Cards, Locker Assignments & Vehicle Registration
Student I.D. cards are required for all students in grades 6-12 and must be renewed each school year. PCA’s Admissions Office will open on August 5-6 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (closed for lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) for students to have cards made; no appointment necessary. 

Upper school locker assignments will also be available for pick up at the front desk of the secondary building, following the schedule above. Middle school locker assignments will be available during Open House.

All students who drive must register vehicles to be assigned a parking spot for the upcoming year at the front desk of the secondary building August 5-6 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. (closed for lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.). Parking spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Student Devices
Students in grades 6-12 should pick up their devices on August 6 from 8:30 – 5 p.m. in the technology office in PCA’s lower school building. Sixth grade students will pick up loaner devices; no case required. New students in grades 7-12 must present an approved case and signed Google consent form, and all 10th graders must return their Chromebook and charger to receive their MacBook. FACTS Accounts
FACTS, PCA’s communication tool, gives parents the opportunity to be more involved in a student’s academic progress and future successes via an easy-to-use software program. It allows you to view grades, attendance, homework assignments, and other useful information. You may also communicate with teachers and other school staff through this system, as necessary. PCA Volunteers
We are seeking parent and grandparent volunteers to help with various projects and activities on and around campus during the year! When you agree to be included in our volunteer program, the only thing that you are committing to is receiving an email when a volunteer opportunity arises. Once you receive an email, you may simply reply yes or no depending on your availability and the skills necessary to complete the task.To be added to PCA’s  volunteer database, please click here. All returning volunteers should complete the form as well to ensure that we have the most up-to-date contact information. 

Athletic Information
All student-athletes in grades 7-12 that play Panther sports or are considering participating in the upcoming school year are required to complete these instructions.

  • Any new PCA student in grades 7-12 and all upcoming seventh-grade student-athletes must have a 1.) documented physical and 2.) Dragonfly account with completed documents before they are allowed to participate in any summer athletic activities, including conditioning. For instructions on creating a Dragonfly account and to access the required documents, click here.
  • Student-athletes who played on a PCA team during 2020-2021 must update their Dragonfly accounts for the upcoming school year using the same login credentials, including completing all required annual forms.   • Current student-athletes with a physical expiring in June or July 2021 are eligible to participate in summer activities using their current physical until July 27.

The first day of school for the 2021-2022 school year is August 9.

Students in grades 6-12 enrolled in a P.E. class must purchase a P.E. uniform through AKD. Students in grades 8-12, who lift weights as a part of a Panther sports team, must wear PCA shirts with sleeves and appropriate-length shorts. Female athletes must purchase school-approved shorts using this form to ensure an appropriate inseam by July 1.
