PCA Red Ribbon Week 2014

 In School News

Last week the Elementary students were busy with Red Ribbon Week activities! PCA has been blessed to be able to support several charitable organizations. On Monday a representative from The Gillespie Senior Citizen Center here in Prattville stopped by to receive multiple bags of snacks, paper towels and Kleenex.

Tuesday, The Lion’s Club joined us to do eye screenings. PCA students and families donated many eye glasses that can be recycled for others who can’t afford a new pair. Wednesday, the students brought in money to support Eastern European Missions. On Thursday we had the honor of having Asha, a service dog from Canines for Kids, visit the school. Asha and his partner, Kristen, spoke to the students about a service dog’s life and how we should behave when interacting with one. On Friday, Red Ribbon Week came to an end with a closing ceremony and check presentations to the representatives from our chosen charities.
