13 Reasons Why – New Netflix Series

Netflix’s original series, 13 Reasons Why is causing quite a buzz among teenagers; however, the subject matter may not be suitable for your students. We bring this to your attention due to the popularity that the show is gaining among middle school, junior high and high school students.

We ask that you familiarize yourself with the series and the outpouring of criticism so that you are educated and informed. We’ve gathered some expert resources that will provide you with the potential dangers from this dark series as expressed from a variety of professionals.

Series Synopsis
The new series was adapted from the 2007 novel, by the same name, written by Jay Asher. The show revolves around a teenage girl’s perplexing suicide after a series of culminating failures, brought on by select individuals within her school.
