Prattville Christian Academy Accreditation Goals

 In Academics, Community, School News

With our upcoming accreditation visit scheduled for this January of 2026, we wanted to share information with you about goals from the previous 5 years that have been worked toward. Since the last accreditation visit in 2021, Prattville Christian Academy has made significant progress toward achieving the goals outlined in our School Improvement Plan. In keeping with our mission to prepare hearts and minds to follow Christ, PCA has focused on six priority areas that reflect our commitment to continuous improvement in academics, spiritual growth, operations, and long-term sustainability.

Priority Goal 1: Spiritual growth of students, faculty, and staff

Spiritual formation continues to be a central focus at PCA. Following the National Christian School Association Spiritual Formation Conference at Pepperdine University in 2021, administrators collaborated with faculty to implement meaningful updates to curriculum, chapel programming, spiritual emphasis weeks, and service opportunities. Weekly devotionals from the Head of School encourage faculty and staff, while the recent introduction of the weekly “Family Minute” video devotional helps families stay connected spiritually. To align every area of school life with our mission, PCA has adopted the following taglines: Spiritual: Shaping Hearts for Christ, Academic: Growing Minds for Christ, Extracurricular: Discovering His Gifts, and Athletic: Training for Him.

Priority Goal 2: Improve and increase math skills for all students

Improving math proficiency has been a major academic focus for our Academic Director, Principals, and math teachers working to integrate new curriculum and state standards.  PCA implemented a new math curriculum for grades K–5 and launched an ACT preparation course for high school students. Teachers across middle and high school collaborate through regular vertical team meetings to set grade-specific goals based on data from standardized testing and classroom performance. These efforts are helping to elevate math instruction and outcomes across all levels.

Priority Goal 3: Strengthening financial resources and stability

PCA is committed to wise financial stewardship. The creation of the Panther Legacy Foundation marks a major step toward long-term investment in student success. Enhanced financial reporting tools are now used for data-driven planning, and staff members receive ongoing training in budgeting and financial management. A reserve account has been established to help ensure future financial health and sustainability.

Priority Goal 4: Increased written policy, procedures, and formalized process documentation for daily operations of the institution

To improve efficiency and consistency, staff members created detailed duty calendars and digital folders to document their daily responsibilities, financial records, and key information such as contacts and passwords. These resources now serve as critical tools for accountability, continuity, and onboarding across campus operations.

Priority Goal 5: Addition of physical space

To better meet the needs of our students and programs, PCA has taken concrete steps to expand its physical footprint. A new weight room has been added to enhance athletic training. Additionally, construction is underway for a new Middle School building that will feature ten classrooms, an additional weight room, and a multipurpose space including a gymnasium and stage—supporting both academic and extracurricular activities.

Priority Goal 6: Exposure of students to expanded post-secondary school education and career options

PCA partnered with Central Alabama Community College to establish the Career Tech Academy, offering students the opportunity to earn dual enrollment credit in high-demand fields such as welding and medical assisting technology. Our school counselor has expanded efforts to educate students and families on post-secondary options through career fairs, informational materials, and connections with local companies, helping students envision multiple pathways for their future.
